WHY a Theological Fantasy?
Theological fantasies have the ability to use imaginary examples to envision the transcendental. Our Lord was fond of drawing from imaginary parables to draw a parallel line with a divine reality He wanted to reveal about His Kingdom. Fantasy takes even a step further in drawing from the imagination fantastical means to help make visible the invisible.
Great authors have used these method in order to try explain theological realities, among the most beloved are C.S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien and G. K. Chesterton, among many others.
Given that "magic" is a common theme being pushed today, 3NITY believes it is of intrinsic value to make the distinction between "conjuring magic" and "requesting God's grace". The former stems from a prideful desire to manipulate power for our own selfish purposes, while the latter requires humility and is used for love of one's self and neighbour to honour God. It is our means to set the record straight between what is the real mystical life with God and the counterfeit offered by the prince of this world, which is nothing more than a re-packaging of the original temptation in Eden.

WHAT SETS THIS PROJECT APART?
Most theological fantasies have done a tremendous job at captivating audiences with rich storytelling and complex, yet relatable characters. However, it is not easy to link the symbolism portrayed to the underlying meaning without at least knowing some sound catechesis or basic theology. With this project, we seek to close this gap.
We start from the foundational desire to use entertainment as a conscious form of evangelization and catechesis. In imparting the Gospel message, our emphasis is on entertainment because it engages our audiences and makes them open to hearing the truths of the Faith. The actual catechesis happens as a natural byproduct of the entertainment.
The aperture of an audience when they are captivated by engaging audiovisual storytelling is far greater than when they are "talked at". It is easier for a person to receive a message when they feel they can relate to an element in a story, viewing it as a third person, than when they feel lectured. This is the first element that sets this fantasy story apart.
We take great care to make it easy to connect theological ideas to our symbols so that our audience can see practical ways of how complex theological truths can be applied in every daily life. We put concepts into practice through story and characters.

Why a series?
The main focus of this series is to teach children how to exercise virtue, and how this, in connection to God, produces the fruits of the Holy Spirit, impacting everything and everyone around us. They also get to see how, when these are put into practice, they have an impact on even those who make life difficult for the one wielding them.
The series also shows the impact of sin in one's soul and one's surroundings. We make it very clear that the true enemy is in fact evil, who pretends to be a friend but is bent on our destruction.
In order to make a fair representation of these realities we have to have an episodic series.

WHAT is the synthesis of the story?
Four children meet a Bishop who tells them a story that will change their lives forever.
For children are on the courtyard garden of a Cathedral that is in disrepair, while their parents are inside in a committee that is in charge of the rebuilding of the Church. They meet a retired Bishop, who is tending the gardens. He tells them the story of a King who holds the greatest power ever to be known, but the peculiar thing about this King is that He wants to share His power with those that come searching for Him with a pure and humble heart. The King then bestows on His visitors a gift of unfathomable power.
As the children become eager to meet this King, the Bishop tells them that He lives in a mystical land called Moramel and that, in order to find Him, they must first find the Porta Fidei, which they must find on their own. He then entrusts them with a key to the mystical door, which takes them to the greatest mystical quest they will ever undertake.
Once there, they meet Ruachel, their guide and protector, who tells them that He will take them to the King, but that they must prepare for a long journey. On their way they meet 12 fidelis, who are loyal allies of the King, and who have already received a gift from Him. But there are also other characters known as the amathes, who either haven't met the King, have heard the wrong things about Him or have met Him but have chosen to plot against Him. Amathes are usually influenced by a character named Shadow. By the way the fidelis treat those that are influenced by Shadow, they end up winning their conversion and leading them to the King, though not in every occasion.

WHAT is the current stage of production?

We are currently working on the 10-minute "pitch" animated video which introduces the story to be developed as a 2D animated series.
The pitch animated video serves to visually introduce the synthesis of the story, with the exact animation style we want to produce the whole series with.
Our team is in the process of completing the design of an animatic video, including background music and the narrator's voice-over.

The Team is currently refining concept designs and about ready to begin 2D animation based on the animatic.
The 3NITEAM is also working on the development of the illustrated books. The first stage is to complete the scripts for the books and then begin illustrations and graphic design for the layout.
